Article updated for v2.5.1.

This guide will help you identify and solve connectivity problems (offline error, Rambox can’t connect, internet connection issues) so you can get back online. If Rambox shows an “OFFLINE” banner or remains stuck on “Checking internet connection...”, it usually means the app cannot properly reach our servers due to some network connectivity issue.

This guide will help you identify and solve connectivity problems so you can get Rambox back online.

Step 1: Run the Troubleshooting Tool

Rambox includes a built-in Troubleshooting Tool to verify connectivity with our essential services.

  1. Open the tool from the top menuTools > Troubleshooting.

  2. Check the status of the following tests:

    • ✅ API connection

    • ✅ Authentication service

    • ✅ Database connection

    • ✅ Storage servers #1 and #2

    • ✅ Remote settings #1 and #2

All of them should return a positive result.

-If one or more tests fail, Rambox cannot connect to the servers required for logging in, loading configurations, or using your apps.

Step 2: Test Rambox URLs in your browser

To confirm that Rambox can access our servers, open the following links in your browser:

-If these load correctly in your browser, Rambox should be able to connect.

-If they do not load, something on your network (proxy, VPN, firewall, or DNS resolver) may be blocking the connection.

Step 3: Check Rambox server status

It’s possible that Rambox appears offline because our servers are experiencing temporary issues.

Go to our official status page: status.rambox.app

  • If all services show as Operational, the issue is not on our side and you should continue with the next troubleshooting steps.

  • If you see a Partial Outage or Downtime, this means our infrastructure is temporarily affected. In that case, please be patient. Our team will already be working on a fix.

  • Rambox runs on Google Cloud infrastructure, and although rare, Google Cloud itself can have interruptions. When that happens, there is unfortunately nothing to do but wait until the service is restored.

Step 4: Check your network setup

If you cannot access the URLs in step 2:

  • Proxy or VPN

    • Make sure Rambox is allowed to connect through your proxy or VPN.

    • Add the URLs listed above to your whitelist.

  • Firewall or Antivirus

    • Check if Rambox is being blocked by your firewall or security software.

    • Temporarily disable them or create an exception for Rambox.

  • DNS resolver

    • If you are using a custom DNS (like Google DNS or Cloudflare), switch back to your default ISP’s DNS and try again.

    • Alternatively, flush your DNS cache.

Step 5: Restart Rambox and your computer

After making changes to your network configuration:

  1. Quit Rambox (File > Exit or CTRL+Q / CMD+Q).

  2. Restart your computer.

  3. Launch Rambox again and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 6: Contact Support

If you have followed all the steps above and you still experience connectivity issues or Rambox remains offline, please reach out to us at support@rambox.app.
Include the following information to speed up the process:

  • A screenshot of your Troubleshooting Tool results.

  • Your operating system and Rambox version.

  • Whether you are using a proxy, VPN, or custom DNS.
