Article updated for v2.3.0.
Our 2.2.3 version is Rambox's last version that will support Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and macOS 10.14 (Mojave). Consequently, Rambox's 2.3.0 version (and higher) requires Windows 10, macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later in order to continue receiving future Rambox updates.
This limitation is due to:
- Microsoft's end of support for Windows 7 ESU and Windows 8.1 on January 10th, 2023.
- Apple's end of support for macOS 10.13 and 10.14 on November 30th, 2021.
- Electron’s deprecation of such Windows and macOS versions.
As of now, Rambox's versions earlier than 2.3.0 will continue to work. However, it's important to note that we will be phasing out support for these older versions over time. We encourage all users to consider switching to a supported Windows or macOS version, as well as upgrading to Rambox's latest version (2.3.0), to ensure continued access to updates, security patches, and a seamless experience.
